Auto-Upgrade Open-Weight Models for Pro Subs

The Problem

Pro subscribers are stuck on older model versions while the identical newer versions are already available on pay-per-credit:

• Qwen 3.6 27b → Qwen 3.8 27b

• GLM 5.2 → GLM 5.3

• DeepSeek v4 flash → DeepSeek v4 flash 0731

These aren't different models. They're the same models, newer versions. There's no reason for Pro users to be on the older ones.
Older models are identical in structure, weight and features to the new proposed one, there’s no additional cost per user for Venice to upgrade.

Proposed Policy

When a newer version of an open-weight model ships on Venice, Pro subscribers get upgraded automatically — like for like, same family, same size class.

No separate ticket, no waiting period. If the newer version is a direct hotswap, it's good enough for Pro.

Why This Matters

Right now Venice has accidentally nerfed Pro by not upgrading. Pro subscribers are paying for the full lineup but getting stale versions of models that have already been replaced elsewhere on the platform and on other subscription providers. That's a bad look and an easy fix.

1. Swap Qwen 3.6 27b → Qwen 3.8 27b for Pro

2. Swap GLM 5.2 → GLM 5.3 for Pro

3. Swap DeepSeek v4 flash → DeepSeek v4 flash 0731 for Pro

4. Make auto-upgrades the default policy going forward
